BIOGRAPHY
Emy Newburg is a 13-year-old competitive dancer and model from Omaha, NE, recognized for her technical versatility, musicality, and confident presence both on stage and on camera.
Emy began training at Kitty Lee Dance Studio at age five and was selected for the competitive team by age eight. She trains extensively across multiple disciplines, including ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, contemporary, lyrical, hip hop, acro, musical theater, and commercial dance. Emy is known for her positive, hardworking attitude, adaptability, and performance quality, and actively seeks growth opportunities through conventions, intensives, mentorships, and personalized coaching.
In 2023, Emy was selected as one of 20 dancers nationwide for Blake McGrath’s inaugural online mentorship program, training with industry leaders including Tyce Diorio, Brian Friedman, Luther Brown, and Kelly Sweeney. Her work and progress have been featured several times on Blake McGrath’s platforms. In September 2025, Emy won the Summer SZN Assistant Search, earning the opportunity to assist Blake McGrath in his Mini Mentorship Program, which she continues to do today.
Emy has performed opening numbers at NRG Dance Project Nationals, Talent on Parade Nationals (Top Starz), and Hall of Fame Nationals (All Stars) and has appeared in closing shows at major conventions including Revel, Hollywood Vibe, Velocity, NYCDA, KAR, and Intrigue. She is the recipient of Velocity’s MVA, NYCDA’s Outstanding Dancer, Revel's Elite Reveler, and was a Radix Protégé Finalist.
In 2025, Emy earned NRG Dance Project’s highest distinction, Prodigy, assisting faculty at regional and national conventions and performing in showcase events. She was named a Junior National Prodigy Finalist at NRG Nationals. In the 2026 season, Emy earned NRG's Teen Prodigy title, KAR Protégé and Titan Force, honors that include assisting faculty at their regional conventions.
In 2025, Emy expanded her creative portfolio into modeling, and has been featured on British Vogue's website, along with several publications including Teen Vibes Magazine, Teen Trendsetters, PM Photo Magazine, LIEPSNA Magazine, CAN Kids Magazine, Tweenit, and has an upcoming cover feature in Supermodels Unlimited (SU) Magazine. She is an official model for Five Dancewear, personally selected by owner Michelle Boley as one of just 28 national models. Emy has graced the runway at New York Fashion Week, showcasing designs by Dragonwing, Willow Bean Studio, and Label Studio 8, with a fourth NYFW appearance scheduled this Fall.
Currently enrolled in Menina Fortunato’s acclaimed Business of Dance mentorship program, Emy is focused on building a professional commercial dance and modeling career, with long-term aspirations to work in Los Angeles and New York City.
